Keep Shandon tidy
Twice a year – in spring and autumn – we get together to give our streets some attention: pick up litter, clean the sidewalks etc. This has always been a great communal success, and an opportunity for neighbours to catch up and introduce each other. Once we’ve done the hard work, we meet at Bang Bang for tea and scones.
There is also a monthly volunteer clean-up of Mount Bernard Park, weather dependent. It is usually on the first Sunday of the month at 9.30am at the Shandon entrance to Mt Bernard Park.
This work complements the regular park clean-ups carried out by DCC, and helps to keep one of the loveliest amenities in our area clean and green.
If any of your residents would like to participate in this monthly clean-up, we would be delighted to have you on board!
All are very welcome. We provide work gloves, litter pickers and bin bags – just bring yourselves!
