SEAN Nóds (Shandon Environmental Action Network Nodes) is a new grassroots initiative that connects residents to projects easily via WhatsApp. Once added, you can access a simple online spreadsheet to help share and record new ideas plus find others who might be interested in a particular
project. Projects are ‘nodes’ of this main branch, so smaller groups can form around a particular idea or action.
Shandon Park resident Dee Murphy came up with this practical and innovative idea. One of the first projects fast taking shape is Dee’s ‘veg commons’ node where produce can be grown and shared. Other nodes forming include a renewable energy/solar panel group started by Gerry Wardell, an expert in
sustainable energy. He gave a very informative presentation on solar panels at last year’s Shandon Residents Association AGM. Other nodes include fruit tree initiatives, environmental issues and the
circular economy/tool sharing. New members are very welcome and if you would like to join please contact us via email below
